Its title comes from the vibrant wild ground phlox (moss pink) that carpets North America in soft pink blooms at this time, as noted by Algonquin and other Indigenous tribes. They called it the Pink Moon, Sprouting Grass Moon, Egg Moon, or Fish Moon to mark the explosive return of life after winter’s quiet. Other cultures link it to the Paschal Moon, which sets the date for Easter and Passover, bringing  themes of resurrection, renewal, and divine timing.
